Aryana Bates

I've been teaching college courses since 1996 in the humanities, social sciences and, more recently, library sciences. I moved into the online, community college teaching environment four quarters ago, about a year after returning in 2005 to the West coast from a decade of living in New Jersey. I run 5 & 10Ks with aspirations of surviving a half marathon by the time I turn 40.

My newest but certainly not only delight is Sasha the rescue Husky. We met in Husky stadium while doing a run to benefit Seattle Public Schools. Probably my most distinguishing cultural characteristic is that my freespirit parents walked me around the world barefoot by the time I was 10 years old. Not even earning my PhD in the ethics andanthropology of religion has been able to top that.
