I pursued Sociology with ceaseless loyalty. I earned my Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D., all in Sociology, and all at the University of Southern California. Yet, along the way, I gathered a wide range of learning, including earing a second Bachelor’s in French and a second Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Within Sociology, my specialties are Criminology, Family, and Cross-cultural Medicine. I teach courses on all three here at Everett Community College. During my long career, I have also taught Social Psychology, Intro to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Problems, and Global Studies.
My favorite part of teaching is reaching the “ah-ha” moment when student perspectives expand or even entirely change. I have loved co-teaching with colleagues across campus– it’s amazing to weave different disciplines together. I believe that learning should be forever for all of us.
